The restaurant is owned and operated by Chef David Guas, a first-generation Cuban American raised in New Orleans. Chef Guas is a prominent cookbook author and television culinary judge, but his true passion is community service. He co-founded the Chefs Feeding Families campaign, providing free grab-and-go meals to children and families in need during school disruptions during COVID. Furthermore, his Community Spoon relief campaigns have directly aided thousands—supplying groceries to Afghan refugees arriving in Northern Virginia, and leading emergency food relief efforts on the border of Poland with World Central Kitchen.
